Narragansett Turkeys
 

Narragansett Breed

 

The Narragansett turkey is named for Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island. Narragansett turkey is one of the oldest turkey breeds in the United States. The breed was developed out of the eastern wild turkey and the domestic turkey. The American Livestock Breeds Conservancy has recognized the Narragansett as a "historic breed."
