Goat Sale Information

Before purchasing a goat from H&M Homestead, you will read and agree to all of the following terms.

Waiting List

For those that are interested in future kids. Please connect with us today to get placed on the waiting list. We do not take deposits until you have come up on the list and you have chosen from one of the kids currently available.

By being put on the waiting list, this is not a commitment to purchase as we do not know what we will have for kids at the time your name comes up on the waiting list. When you request to be placed on the waiting list please specify what you are looking for specifically (Doe, wether, buck, registered, unregistered, etc).

Pedigree

We are breeding for both conformation and milk production. Our registered herd comes from excellent lines. The lines tie to Painted Pepper Farm, Old Mountain Farm, Beaten Path Farm, Rosasharn Farm, Tragos Trip, Dawnland, Denbow Acres, Mt. Signal Farm, and FeatherNScale. We sell goats that have the genetic potential to carry on the correct Nigerian Dwarf conformation and dairy production. We understand that purchasing a young kid is a higher risk, but we do guarantee to provide all the information we can about their genetic lines.

Your Commitment

Goats are herd animals and must be with other goats. We will not sell one goat by itself unless we are certain there is already at least one goat at the new home.

Just like any animal, goats require a significant commitment. Nigerian Dwarf goats can live between 12-14 years. This is very similar to a dog, but with a goat, you must have more than one and you need to consider housing and a proper pasture. A goat requires a minimum of 200 sq. ft. of outdoor space.

H&M Homestead goats must go to a good home that includes, but not limited to:

  • Love

  • Adequate shelter

  • Free of exposure to goat diseases

  • Free-choice water, good hay, and minerals

  • Grain for growing kids and lactating does

  • Access to an agricultural veterinarian

  • Regular vaccinations and deworming

  • Routine hoof trimming

  • A goat friend

Pricing

All prices include ruminant biosecurity screening for Johnes, CAE, and CL. Each goat will come with veterinary and immunization records.

30% discount to 4-H Youth.

Goat's Health

We guarantee that our goats are healthy when they leave us. If a goat that you have reserved becomes sick or injured, we will either refund your deposit, offer you another goat to put your deposit toward, or provide the veterinary care to the sick or injured goat and allow you to take the goat once it is healthy.

Final Notes

We at H&M Homestead reserve the right to cancel any sale, if we feel that a sale is not a good fit. A good fit can be for any reason. H&M Homestead reserves the right to retain any kid at any time.

H&M Homestead is not responsible for the health or development of an animal beyond 24 hours after it leaves the homestead.

With all that said, we are here to guide you on your journey. We will be the first to tell you we don't know all there is to know about goats and that we are always learning.
